"Sight Restored! The 31st Free Cataract Camp is a Massive Success!"

We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 31st free cataract surgery camp, which was held at the Kattankudy Base Hospital in Batticaloa from September 30th to October 6th.

This year’s program has been a monumental success, resulting in the restoration of vision for 452 patients from various districts across the country. For these individuals, the loss of sight due to cataracts has been reversed, allowing them to regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

In addition to the surgeries, our screening process identified over a hundred individuals in need of vision correction, and we were able to provide them with prescription glasses.

This life-changing initiative was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Al Basar International Foundation (UK).

This camp marks the second major surgical outreach conducted by the AMYS organization this year. We are proud to have fulfilled our duty of ensuring the ‘Right to Sight’ for another large group of people, thereby contributing meaningfully to the national social and economic development of Sri Lanka. We extend our sincere gratitude to all the medical staff, volunteers, and partners who made this possible.
