Bringing Clean Water to Athula Gama, Rakwana: Mission Accomplished!

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the drinking water project in Athula Gama, a charming hilly village in the Ratnapura, Rakwana, Godakawela division. This initiative comes in response to the critical need for adequate drinking water for the village's 125 families, who represent all three local castes and previously relied on just a single well. The project was promptly launched following a formal request from the village representatives, demonstrating our commitment to swift and effective community service. We celebrated this achievement with a special ceremony on April 15, 2024, where we officially handed over the project to the community. The event was graced by the presence of AMYS Managing Director Ash-Sheikh M.S.M. Thassim, Executive Director A.J.M. Warith, the trustees of Masjid Bilal, and many local residents who are the true beneficiaries of this project.

Water Project Handover: Bringing Clean Water to Bakinigahavela

We're thrilled to share some great news about our recent project in the village of Bakinigahawela, located along the main road of Bibila, Medagama, Divisional Secretary Division, Monaragala. The Bakinigahawela Juma Masjid serves as a central point for the Muslim community in this village, surrounded by 40 families. These families have been facing a significant challenge: the lack of access to clean drinking water. Responding to this critical need, our Association took on the task of providing a solution. With the generous support of a donor from Saudi Arabia, we initiated a drinking water project for the village. On February 19, 2024, we were proud to officially hand over this important project to the community. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including AMYS Managing Director Ash-sheikh M.S.M. Thassim, Executive Director A.J.M. Warith, as well as masjid trustees and members of the public. This initiative not only benefits the local residents but also extends its reach to travellers along the Monaragala and Bibila roads. We're grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in Bakinigahawela and beyond. With your continued support, we're committed to improving communities and creating lasting change.
