We are pleased to share the success of our 28th annual Free Eye Camp for cataract surgeries, held from May 5th to 17th, 2024, at Base Hospital Kattankudy in the Batticaloa district. Over 1,000 patients in need from various parts of the country benefited from this program, which was organized as two separate camps. This initiative was a collaborative effort between our Association and the Al-Basar International Foundation of the United Kingdom. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre of Saudi Arabia for their generous financial sponsorship. Thank you to everyone involved for making this life-changing project possible!

Bringing Clean Water to Athula Gama, Rakwana: Mission Accomplished!

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the drinking water project in Athula Gama, a charming hilly village in the Ratnapura, Rakwana, Godakawela division. This initiative comes in response to the critical need for adequate drinking water for the village's 125 families, who represent all three local castes and previously relied on just a single well. The project was promptly launched following a formal request from the village representatives, demonstrating our commitment to swift and effective community service. We celebrated this achievement with a special ceremony on April 15, 2024, where we officially handed over the project to the community. The event was graced by the presence of AMYS Managing Director Ash-Sheikh M.S.M. Thassim, Executive Director A.J.M. Warith, the trustees of Masjid Bilal, and many local residents who are the true beneficiaries of this project.
