"Water Project Handover: Bringing Clean Water to Bakinigahavela"

We’re thrilled to share some great news about our recent project in the village of Bakinigahawela, located along the main road of Bibila, Medagama, Divisional Secretary Division, Monaragala.

The Bakinigahawela Juma Masjid serves as a central point for the Muslim community in this village, surrounded by 40 families. These families have been facing a significant challenge: the lack of access to clean drinking water.

Responding to this critical need, our Association took on the task of providing a solution. With the generous support of a donor from Saudi Arabia, we initiated a drinking water project for the village.

On February 19, 2024, we were proud to officially hand over this important project to the community. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including AMYS Managing Director Ash-sheikh M.S.M. Thassim, Executive Director A.J.M. Warith, as well as masjid trustees and members of the public.

This initiative not only benefits the local residents but also extends its reach to travellers along the Monaragala and Bibila roads.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in Bakinigahawela and beyond. With your continued support, we’re committed to improving communities and creating lasting change
